11 Plus Application Process

Bournemouth & Poole 11 Plus Application Process

The Bournemouth & Poole 11 Plus application process is used by four local grammar schools. Children only need to sit one 11 Plus entrance exam, which is accepted by:

  • Bournemouth School
  • Bournemouth School for Girls
  • Poole Grammar School
  • Parkstone Grammar School

This shared entrance exam simplifies the application process for families applying to one or more of these grammar schools.

Bournemouth & Poole 11 Plus Registration

Registration for the 2026 Bournemouth and Poole 11 Plus exam opens on 13 April.

Parents, carers and guardians must complete the online registration form through one of the grammar school websites.

Registration closes at midday on Friday 4 September, so it’s important not to miss the deadline.

Bournemouth & Poole 11 Plus Entrance Exam Date

The Bournemouth and Poole 11 Plus entrance exam will take place on:

Saturday 26 September 2026

Children will sit the exam at their allocated test centre.

Bournemouth & Poole 11 Plus Results

Parents and carers will receive their child’s 11 Plus results by email before 4pm on Friday 16 October 2026.

These results will confirm whether your child has achieved the required standard for grammar school consideration.

Secondary School Applications

After receiving the 11 Plus results, you’ll need to submit your secondary school application through your local authority.

The deadline is:

31 October 2026

Grammar schools can only consider your child for a place if:

  • They have achieved the required standard in the 11 Plus exam.
  • You have included the grammar school on your secondary school application.

Grammar School Application Deadline

After receiving your child’s results, you’ll need to submit your secondary school application through your local authority.

31 October 2026
