Our aim is to prepare your child for success in the 11 Plus Entrance Exam, helping them secure a place at a Grammar School across Poole, Bournemouth and the wider Dorset area.
Our tuition is carefully designed around the GL Assessment format used by local Grammar Schools, ensuring your child is fully prepared for the style and content of the exam.
Our 1:1 online 11 Plus lessons are delivered by experienced, qualified teachers who understand the challenges children face when preparing for the entrance exam. Every lesson is tailored to your child’s learning needs, allowing them to make steady progress at a pace that suits them.
What we offer
Year 4 – 11 Plus Tuition

Year 4 is an ideal time to start preparing for the 11 Plus in a relaxed and informal way. Starting early allows your child to build a strong foundation in maths and English, giving them a greater understanding of the fundamentals needed to sit the entrance exam.
Starting early gives your child plenty of time to learn at a steady pace. It enables our tutors to identify any gaps in their learning, adapt their sessions where necessary and spend time focusing on consolidating and securing knowledge.
The core skills each Year 4 student should master are:
- Regular reading to enhance their vocabulary; 15-20 minutes a day
- Basic understanding of punctuation
- Solid timetables 1x to 12x
- Knowledge of the four operations (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication)
Year 5 – 11 Plus Tuition

11 Plus tuition in Year 5 will primarily focus on securing your child’s knowledge in the fundamentals of maths, English and Verbal Reasoning, so that they feel confident when going into the exam. We will also teach your child the essential skills needed to complete the 11 Plus.
Your child will learn new skills, cover parts of the Year 6 curriculum and have plenty of practice answering assessment questions.
The core skills each Year 5 student should master are:
- Continue to build on broadening their vocabulary needed for English comprehension and Verbal Reasoning papers.
- A good understanding of the spelling rules and help to spot difficult spellings quickly and confidently.
- Increase knowledge and speed of mental maths and timestables.
- Learn new maths skills including algebra, ratios, fractions, percentages, decimals, place value and problem solving.
Our Approach
As well as developing the knowledge and skills needed for the exam, we focus on building confidence, resilience and effective problem solving strategies. We believe that children perform at their best when they feel supported, encouraged and motivated, which is why our lessons are engaging, interactive and designed to make learning enjoyable.
Throughout your child’s preparation, we provide regular feedback and guidance so you can clearly see the progress they are making. Whether your child needs support to strengthen their core skills or is aiming for a top score, we will help them develop the confidence and ability to approach the 11 Plus with success.
With flexible online lessons that fit around busy family life, your child can receive expert 11 Plus tuition from the comfort of home while benefiting from personalised support every step of the way.
