Welcome to Teach Wessex. We provide private online tuition and interactive learning for children aged 8-18 years from the comfort of their own home.
At Teach Wessex it’s all about encouragement, problem solving and supporting our students to find their own way of doing things. We do this through exploring ideas, asking open questions, and using real life examples to aid better understanding of topics.
We run a very effective and well established 11 Plus Preparation Programme. These lessons are taught by experienced and qualified teachers, offering a great student to adult ratio (1:1 and 2:1) and allow students to work collaboratively.
Alongside this we offer 1:1 online tuition in:
- Key Stage 2 (from Year 3) SATs, Maths, English and 11 Plus Grammar School Entrance test
- Key Stage 3 – Maths & English
- GCSE’s – Maths, English, Science & Business.
- A-Levels – Business
It is a great opportunity for students to get some meaningful one to one time with a qualified teacher/expert tutor.
Our tutors are carefully chosen to provide a responsive service. Sessions are tailored to each student’s individual needs and include an element of free-flow, allowing students to have a say in which topics are covered. This approach helps build trust with their tutor. All our tutors are either qualified teachers or subject specialists with extensive experience and expertise in their field and have enhanced DBS checks, up-to-date PREVENT and Safeguarding training.

Areas of practice
11 Plus Prep
We specialise in 11 Plus tuition and 11 Plus Mock Exams. Whilst we focus on the core skills required in Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning, our sessions are broader giving students a solid and comprehensive set of skills which they can use every day.
Key Stage 2
Our KS2 (Years 3 to 6) Maths & English tuition is designed to build confidence, close learning gaps, and help build strong foundations. With engaging, tailored sessions and a focus on key maths & English skills, including preparation for SATs, we make learning enjoyable and fun.
Key Stage 3
Our KS3 (Years 7 to 9) Maths & English tuition provides tailored support to strengthen core skills, boost confidence, and prepare students for the challenges ahead. From mastering tricky topics to fostering a love for learning, we’re here to help your child excel.
GCSE’s
(KS4 – Years 10 to 11) can be a challenging and stressful time for your teen(s). We aim to support students through this process, whether it’s covering topics they don’t understand, helping with revision techniques or practicing exam style questions for Maths, English, Science and Business.

Organising private online tuition for your child is quick, simple and can be done in a few simple steps.
1 – Get in touch

This helps us better understand your child’s need, learning goals and identify how best we can support them. Please be as detailed as possible.
2 – The right tutor
We’ll give you a call to discuss how we can help support your child.
Based on our discussion we’ll match your child with one of our expert tutors. This will be based on academic need and learning style.
3 – Trial session
We’ll organise the trial session around your child’s schedule.
You’ll receive a zoom link via email to join the trial session.
The expert tutor will assess your child and work with them to create a plan of how they’re going to work together to help them reach their goals.
4 – Ongoing support
After the trial tuition session we’ll get in touch to find out how the session went and if you want to book in regular weekly sessions. These will take place on the same day and time each week.
Homework will be set by the tutor, so that students can reinforce what has been taught in the session.
