Our 11 Plus Mock Exams give students the opportunity to experience exam conditions before sitting the real Grammar School entrance exam.
Designed to reflect the format and timing of the GL Assessment, our mocks help children become familiar with the pressure of completing multiple timed papers in an unfamiliar environment.
Each mock exam lasts approximately 3 hours and includes three papers; Maths – 50 minutes, English – 45 minutes and Verbal Reasoning – 50 minutes
Why take part in a mock exam?
Taking part in mock exams is one of the most effective ways to prepare for the 11 Plus. As well as testing knowledge, they help students develop exam technique, improve time management and build the confidence needed to perform at their best on the day.
Many children perform differently in a formal exam than they do during tutoring sessions or at home. Sitting a full mock exam allows them to experience the pace, structure and atmosphere of a real test, helping to reduce anxiety and remove the fear of the unknown.
By the time they sit their actual 11 Plus exam, they’ll know what to expect, feel more confident under timed conditions and be better equipped to stay calm, focused and perform to the best of their ability.
What to expect from the 11 Plus Mock Exam
Our mock exams are designed to give students a realistic exam experience while helping them build confidence and identify areas for improvement. From the moment they arrive to receiving their detailed feedback, every aspect of the day is carefully planned to prepare them for the real 11 Plus exam.
During the mock exam, students will benefit from:

- Tips for approaching and answering every question
- The opportunity to practise 11 Plus topics and exam techniques
- Timings that reflect the real 11 Plus exam
- Experienced exam invigilators providing a realistic exam environment
- A detailed feedback report highlighting strengths, areas for improvement and a comparison with the cohort
